TSEC
The Thadomal Shahani Engineering College was founded in 1983. It is the first and oldest private engineering institute to be affiliated with the University of Mumbai, one of the oldest universities in Asia. TSEC ranks within the top 1% of India’s private engineering colleges and has, for 31 years, formed the perfect amalgamation of academia and culture.
MUN Society,MPSTME
The Beginning:
As an initiative taken by a group of highly motivated and promising students in the college, Model UN society came into existence in the academic session 2010-11, to provide a platform to students who are eager to broaden their mindset and develop abilities like speaking, debating and negotiating by participating in Model UN Conferences across the globe.
Events:
Since its inception, in a short span of time, MUNSoc MPSTME has built up an impressive track record through participation in various MUN conferences, and have yielded multiple awards. It has been industriously infusing MUNning skills into eager minds by organizing various events and activities throughout the year, for instance, Intra Model United Nations conference, TM-MUN 2011, TS-MP MUN 2012, TM-MUN 2012, TM-MUN 2013 and regular workshops on the Rules of Procedure, and Resolution writing in educational institutes across Mumbai.
Furthermore it organizes various Practice Debate sessions and Debate Competitions in the college hence providing equal opportunity to explore one’s potential.
Most importantly though, MUNSoc MPSTME has been organizing the Mumbai MUN 2012, Mumbai MUN 2013 and now the remarkably successful Mumbai MUN 2014 in collaboration with MS-TSEC and has manage to receive a staggering response worldwide.
To add to that, the Mumbai Youth Leaders Summit (MYLS), a MUNSoc brainchild, was first held in 2013 and has received very positive acclaims. The event was attended by various esteemed personalities, like Mr. Chandan Mitra, Ms Brinda Miller, Mr Arun Malhotra, Dr JP Gandhi, Mr Krishna Warrier.
MUN Society, in association with the US consulate, also organized an interactive seminar with Ms Zeenat Rehman, the special Adviser to the Secretary, Office of Global Youth Issues.
MS-TSEC
At the Management Society (MS), we believe in being the difference. This belief drives us to be the difference between a degree and an education. Through the conceptualization of various initiatives that range from debates to quizzes that draw the best minds from across the nation, we strive to engineer experiences that educate and empower the youth of today and the leaders of tomorrow.
